As Jackson Pollock said, “Abstract painting is abstract. It confronts you. There was a reviewer a while back who wrote that my pictures didn’t have any beginning or any end. He didn’t mean it as a compliment, but it was.”
My work adheres to this premise and forces the viewer to react. The goal: maybe confusion at first, some familiarity based on a personal emotional response, possibly a challenging decision-making process, but in the end, an interactive experience. Unlike representational art with its powerful emotions, abstract images are never static. They constantly evolve bringing new life to their surroundings.
