Juan Alonso-Rodríguez is an award winning visual artist with a career spanning over three decades. Besides making paintings, drawings and photographs, he has completed several public projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, including a glass mosaic column at Seattle/Tacoma International Airport.
In 2011 he returned to Havana, Cuba, forty-five years after leaving his family and place of birth. He began documenting his consequent visits in a series of photographs, fifty of which were included in his book, 8 Days In Havana, published in 2012.
Juan serves on the Seattle Arts Commission and the city’s Public Art Advisory Committee.
