I make works on paper in addition to oil paintings on canvas. These prints are unique works on paper, called monotypes, which I make with a small etching press in my studio here in the Good Arts Building. Printing ink is applied to thin acetate cutouts and laid over a plastic plate. Cotton rag paper is placed on top and an image is transferred from the pressure of the press. While I do not think of them as illustrations, their imagery is partially indebted to the science fiction works of Philip K. Dick and Ursula K. LeGuin.
